Scaling & Polishing

Scaling is when your dentist removes all the plaque and tartar (hardened plaque) above and below the gumline, making sure to clean all the way down to the bottom of the pocket.
Preventive is always better than cure, so teeth scaling is a part of preventive care and helps to keep many dental issues at bay.

Benefits of Scaling & Polishing:

Avoid dental caries

Prevent gum disease

Remove stain

Prevent bad breath

Filling

A dental filling is a dental procedure used to restore part of a tooth that has been damaged by decay. The objective with a filling is to remove the decayed area, clean it well, and “fill” the space with a material, returning the tooth to its normal shape and, hopefully, normal function.
Dental filling is only needed when your tooth is decayed. The tooth is the only part of the body that cannot heal itself.

Benefits of Filling:

Stops the caries from progressing

Improves the structure of the tooth

Strengthens fractured teeth

Tooth fillings can improve the color of your teeth

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal treatment is used to repairthe damaged inside of a tooth. It involves drilling a hole into the tooth and removing the soft centre, known as the dental pulp. After the pulp is removed, the space is filled and sealed.

What Happens After Root Canal Treatment?

Your tooth becomes more prone to fractures and further damage due to existing decay and potential loss of tooth structure during the procedure itself.

When is Crown Needed?

When too much of the original tooth is missing and after root canal treatment.

Potential Risk of Not Getting a Dental Crown:

Fracture

Higher risk of developing new decay

Improved chewing ability

Purpose & Benefits of Dental Crown:

It provides an extra layer of protection to your tooth, prevent fracture

It restores the tooth’s natural shape and appearance, giving you a confident smile

Losing the treated tooth altogether is also a possibility if complications arise and it becomes irreparable
